What's New for 2022?

This year, the Ram 1500 is offering several new packages to its truck. The new G/T package is available on the Laramie trims and features a shifter mounted to the console, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, a new cold-air intake, and a one-of-a-kind exhaust system.

The 10th Anniversary Edition is available on the Limited models and adds several style enhancements to the interior of the truck. The cabin is adorned in premium materials and the exterior is offered in a new shade of blue.

Toyota Tundra

After sitting largely unchanged for almost a decade, the Tundra has finally received some major updates. The truck now features a redesigned exterior that is highlighted by more muscular curves and an extra-large front grille. The interior now also has a refreshed look and features soft cloth fabric and new technology options.

Exterior Design

While the Tundra features a new and more stylish exterior design, the Ram 1500 offers both a stylish and practical exterior.

The 1500's exterior is specifically designed to be more aerodynamic than any other truck in its class. It features  Active Air Grille Shutters and active air dams that help reduce drag and engine turbulence. There is also an available Active-Levell Four-Corner Air Suspension system that automatically lowers the body at high speeds to reduce wind resistance even further.

The Ram 1500 also offers an innovative multi-functional tailgate that can open in a 60/40 split and allow you easier access inside the bed. There is also an available RamBox cargo management system that featur4es a lockable and weather-resistant box that is integrated into the side of the bed wall.

The Tundra does not offer an aerodynamic design or a versatile bed design.

Power and Performance

The 2022 Ram 1500 offers several powerful engine options to choose from, which include:

•  3.6-litre V6 engine with eTorque delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft of torque ( +90 lb.-ft of launch torque)
•  5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque
•  5.7-litre Hemi V8 with eTorque delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque (+ 130 lb.-ft of launch torque)
•  3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine delivers 260 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft of torque
•  6.2-litre Supercharged Hemi V8 engine delivers 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft of torque

The Tundra does not offer a V8 engine. Instead, it offers a V6 engine that can deliver either 348 horsepower or 389 horsepower, depending on which powertrain option you choose.

The Ram 1500 also has the ability to tow up to 5,783 kg (12,750 pounds), while the Tundra can only tow up to 5,443 kg (12,000 pounds).
