Exterior Features

All models are similar across this lineup, with a few details added here and there, depending on the trim. It’s a compact SUV, which means it’s roomy inside but not all that massive on the outside. There are black side roof rails, but roof colours may vary between black and body-cloured. There’s also special badging for the Trailhawk, RED, and Trailhawk Elite trims. Wheels also vary in colour, and sizes range between 17” and 19”.

Engine Specs and Performance

There’s one option for an engine for the entire lineup. The 2.0-litre Turbo engine with ESS (engine stop/start) has an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 200 hp, 221 lb-ft of torque, combined fuel consumption of 8.8L/100 km, and 2,000 pounds of towing capacity.

The driving experience is easy and comfortable with AWD suspensions for almost all trims. The exceptions are the Trailhawk and the Trailhawk Elite, with off-road suspension. There’s a special Selec-Terrain Traction Management system for the whole lineup and the Jeep Active Drive 4x4 system.

Technology Features

All models come with Uconnect 5 Infotainment System with a 10.1” touchscreen and are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are two options for TFT displays: a 7” and a 10.25” display. The sound system counts on six speakers. There’s SiriusXM Satellite Radio for all models, but only the Altitude comes with SiriusXM 360L. The Sport is the only trim without a remote start.

Safety Features

The new Jeep Compass is a very safe vehicle, combining features like multiple airbags and drowsy driver detection. There’s a wide availability of driving assists available for all trim levels. Standard features include ESC, ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera (with dynamic gridlines) and active lane management. There’s a 360-Degree Surround-View Camera System available for North and above trims.

Trim Lineup

Now that you know the basics of the new 2023 Jeep Compass, you can learn more about specific features. Here’s what each trim has to offer.

Sport

The basic model has cloth upholstery, heated front seats, and manual air conditioning. The rear seats are foldable, and a rear cargo underfloor space is also available. There’s carpet on the floor and in the cargo compartment. A 7” driver’s information display is available and wireless compatibility (Android Auto/Apple CarPlay).

Ensure you can drive on any road anytime with an automatic LED headlamp and incandescent taillamps. Driving is smooth and effortless with its AWD suspension and a tilt/telescoping steering column. The most important safety features include pedestrian/cycling emergency braking, forward collision warning, and an active lane management system.

North

The upholstery has been upgraded to premium cloth for this model on top of all-weather floor mats. The AC is no longer manual, and you’ll enjoy a dual-zone automatic control system. It has the same infotainment system and displays as the previous model. It means it has a one-year subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio and a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot available, among other perks.

The body-coloured roof is one of the defining exterior features of the North, Sport, and RED trims. This trim has deep-tint sunscreen glass, while the previous trim has solar control glasses and cornering fog lamps. Safety features have been upgraded, too. New features include adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection.

Altitude

The interior design of the new Altitude is quite sophisticated, with its leather-faced seats and 10.25-inch full-colour TFT cluster display, 3.25” bigger than North’s. The front seats are heated, but the 12-way driver’s seat has a 4-way lumbar adjustment. The infotainment system has been upgraded to include SiriusXM with 360L, TomTom Connected Traffic & Travel Services, and Amazon Alexa.

The main difference in the exterior design lies in the roof colour, which is now black instead of body-coloured. There’s no news in the safety corner, though, and this trim has the same features as the previous ones, such as seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, parking assists, etc.

Trailhawk

You can choose between vinyl and premium cloth for seating. This trim comes with a one-year subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio; the SiriusXM with 360L isn’t available here. New perks include auto-dimming rearview mirrors, a universal garage door opener, traffic signs recognition, and hill descent control.

The new Trailhawk has fantastic off-road features to explore Ontario’s wildlife and scenic landscapes. It’s the only model with two tow hooks, along with the Trailhawk Elite; the same goes for the special off-road suspension. You can tell it apart from other trims by its anti-glare black hood decal.

Limited

The leather-face seats are back in this trim, including SiriusXM Traffic Plus, Travel Link, and SiriusXM Guardian. Although it shares most of the tech and safety features of the previous models, it’s not as off-road-oriented as the Trailhawks and RED trims. It means we’re back to the AWD suspension here.

(RED)

You can tell this model from the rest with its Willys (RED) decal badge. It comes with 19” wheels, the largest ones in the lineup. It’s the only upper trim with a body-coloured roof. The redline pearl exterior mirrors are among the defining features of this trim. Only three colours are available for this model, while the rest have six options.

Trailhawk Elite

The Trailhawk Elite ensures an enjoyable ride, regardless of the weather conditions. There’s heating and ventilation for the front seats. It also has hill descent control, like the Trailhawk. New safety features include parallel & perpendicular park and unpark assist; this trim’s traffic sign recognition is standard.
