Engine Specs and Performance

The new Wrangler combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and electric motors, delivering amazing fuel efficiency: 4.5Le/100 km in the city and 5.2Le/100 km on highways. This lineup goes from 0km/h to 96km/h in 6 seconds. It means hybrid engineering doesn’t compromise performance. The hybrid driving range goes up to 592km.

You can drive using the Electric Mode, the eSave Mode, and a gasoline-only mode. All trims have the same engine and an eight-speed PHEV automatic transmission. You can count on 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque capacity. There’s also a 400v 17 kWh lithium battery.

Exterior Features

All trims are quite similar in design; the main differences come between the flagship model and the rest. The Rubicon is the only one with a special trim decal and exclusive black fender flares. There are LED taillamps for all models, although the design of to front and rear bumpers change slightly across the outline, as well as wheel sizes. The Electric Blue tow hooks give an interesting touch to this electric-oriented vehicle.

Technology Features

The new Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a PHEV model. PHEV stands for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle. This vehicle has more battery capacity than simple hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The engineering of this model allows you to choose between all-electric, all-gas and hybrid modes, giving you great control over the performance of your Wrangler. The battery is constantly recharged by a regenerative braking system and engine combustion.

The new Wrangler has over 75 safety features, driving assist, and security systems. The adaptive cruise control system is ready to stop the vehicle if necessary. It also helps you stay aware of other vehicles around you. Additionally, it has a forward collision warning system with active braking.

You can also drive safely on the most challenging trails with its TrailCam, a forward-facing off-road camera. This camera also provides dynamic tire paths to help you drive around obstacles of varied sizes. It’s easy to park anywhere with a ParkView backup camera and a rear parking assist system.

2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Trim Lineup

The Jeep Wrangler is usually a lineup with few trims. Last year, only two trims were available. Read about the new trim and the main features of the rest of the lineup here.

4-Door Willys

4-Door Willys

The entry-level model has Rubicon shocks, 17” aluminum wheels, Bridgeston 32” tires, and anti-spin differential rear axles. Additionally, it comes with Dana heavy-duty front and rear axles. There are skid plates for the transfer case and fuel tank. There are no grilles on this trim.

There’s an Alpine sound system available, as well as an 8.4” touchscreen display with Uconnect 4C NAV. This trim has many safety features, such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Selec-Speed Control, and tire pressure monitoring. This is a new trim compared to the 2022 lineup, with only the Ultimate Sahara and Ultimate Rubicon available. Yet, it has some quite interesting standard features and a slightly friendlier price tag.

4-Door Sahara

4-Door Sahara

This trim has a Black Three-Piece Freedom Top hardtop and a Selec-Trac 4x4 system. Like the rest of the lineup, the 4-Door Sahara has full-framed removable doors. The exterior design is pretty similar to the 2022 model, with front and rear bumpers with Silver bezels, a feature now present in the 4-Door Willys.

You can tell the new Sahara from the Willys by the silver grille inserts. Standard infotainment features include SiriusXM Guardian, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and wireless connectivity. There are considerable upgrades from the previous year, such as Park-Sense, rear-parking assists, and blindspot monitoring, also as standard features.

4-Door Rubicon

4-Door Rubicon

The flagship has all the luxury features on the list and also a few distinguishing design features. It has an improved 4.1 Rock-Trac full-time 4x4 system with Tru-Lok front and rear axles. The 33” off-road all-terrain tires make it a perfect match for the grittiest roads. It comes with Performance suspension, an improved version of the Sport suspension available on the lower trims. The sway bar disconnect is no longer available for this trim.

It has grey grille inserts, contrasting with Sahara’s silver grille inserts. It’s the only trim with black fender flares, a power dome hood, and a blue-accented Rubicon decal. A Sunrider Soft Top in Black vinyl also differentiates it from the rest of the lineup. There has also been an upgrade in safety options to include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection.
