Stellantis Expands Canadian Production With Official Launch of Third Shift at Windsor Assembly Plant
- More than 1,700 employees begin new shift in Windsor starting February 17, bringing total plant employment to approximately 6,000
- Nearly 250 Brampton Assembly Plant employees elected to transfer to Windsor; remaining hourly workers continue to receive 70% salary plus health benefits during operational pause

The additional shift will accommodate production of the Chrysler minivan lineup and the allānewĀ 2026 Dodge ChargerĀ lineup.
The 2026 North American Car of the Year™ (NACTOY) Dodge Charger lineup includes:
- SIXPACK-powered Dodge Charger Scat Pack (two- and fourādoor) producing 550 horsepower and 531 lb.-ft. of torque
- SIXPACK-powered, 420-horsepower and 468. lb.-ft. of torque Dodge Charger R/T (two- and four-door)
- Allāelectric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack (two- and fourādoor), delivering 670 hp as the worldās quickest and most powerful muscle car
- AllĀ ChargerĀ modelsĀ are equipped with standard all-wheel driveĀ with rear-wheel-capability
For 42 years, theĀ Windsor Assembly PlantĀ has been the home of Stellantisā awardāwinning minivan portfolio, beginning with the groundbreaking 1983 launch. Today, the plant builds the Chrysler Pacifica, Grand Caravan (Canadian market) and Chrysler Voyager (U.S. market).
Together, these vehicles make up the No. 1 bestāselling minivan lineup in both Canada and the United States with an upcoming refreshed Chrysler Pacifica that will debut in the second quarter.
Windsor Assembly Plant Facts
- With three shifts, total plant employment is nearly 6,000
- Nearly 250 employees from BramptonĀ choseĀ to transfer to the Windsor Assembly Plant to take on new roles
- Three shift operations will run on midnights, days and afternoonsĀ in all major areas of the plant, including BodyāināWhite (BIW), Paint, General AssemblyĀ and Material Handling
- Production job types include team members, team leaders, online and offline inspectors, material drivers, subassembly operatorsĀ and trainers
- Skilled trades involved in thirdāshift operations include electricians, industrial mechanics, pipefittersĀ and toolmakers
- A new Chrysler minivan or Dodge Charger rolls off the assembly line roughly every minute
- The introduction of a third shift is anticipated to drive ongoing improvements in energy use and operational efficiency as processes become fully harmonized
